On this page , we have tried to pull together all the ongoing issues the Council is dealing with.
Highways – The Parish Council are concerned about the increased traffic noise from the A629. We are continuing to make representations’ to NYCC Highways. We have made Highways aware that Grange Road no Parking marks have faded and they are planning on renewing these in due course. There are also plans to make amendments to the drainage system which will hopefully help divert some of the overflow water.
Street Lighting – The present situation . After what seems like years of trying, we at last have a new heritage style light fitting on Hanover Street with the other one moved to Main Street. We are also looking at changing to LED lighting which will be a cheaper option for the Parish going forward with the ever increasing electricity rates.
The Arbour.
The Parish Council are aware of recent issues regarding delivery vehicles leaving the track to turn and becoming stuck on the arbour. The Council have had extensive conversations and taken into account residents comments regarding this issue and have agreed to try boulders to see how effective these are. The Council have also undertaken tree works following the advice of Tree Surgeons and NYCC Tree Officer. Should residents have any issues then please do not hesitate to contact the Clerk.
