At the recent Scarecrow Festival £1,050 was raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The scarecrow ‘Donald Trump’ was the public choice and the judges’ choice was ‘Kildwick Bell Ringers’
Defibrillator Training and Awareness
The Parish Council have recently acquired funding from Airedale Chemical for a defibrillator for the village and NYCC Locality Budget has provided funding to cover the cost of fitting the defibrillator.
It has now been fitted on the exterior wall at the Institute and will shortly be registered with the Ambulance Service.
A training and awareness session is being held on Tuesday 16th May 2017 at 7.30pm At Kildwick/Farnhill Institute.
David Jones the Community Defibrillation Officer will be attending to explain how to gain access to the defibrillator and give a short training session on how the defibrillator works. All residents of the village are welcome to attend.
Trees
One of the requirements of the insurance taken out by the Parish Council is to have a report on trees on land owned by the Council carried out by a qualified tree specialist every three years. Following this report, an application is made to Craven District Council for any necessary work as the trees are in a Conservation Area. Recycling survey
Craven District Council are proposing to have a single collection for recyclable items such as paper, plastic, glass, cans, etc. This takes away the need to separate the items and they will be collected fortnightly. Craven are seeking your views. Click here to complete a short survey. Consultation closes on 21st December.
Bench “For Janet”
A new bench, simply engraved “For Janet”, has been erected on Farnhill Moor. The bench replaces one destroyed by vandals. Many thanks to all involved in the erection of the bench.
Kildwick and Farnhill Calendar
The calendar created by Kildwick and Farnhill Institute for 2017 is now on sale. The calendar shows 12 different views of Kildwick and Farnhill through all four seasons, together with plenty of space to enter your appointments, etc. Click here for details of costs, availabilty, etc.
Lower Arbour Seat
The Parish Council has recently installed a seat on the Lower Arbour. We would like to thank Mr Bunnett, a former Farnhill resident who left in 1951 but returned often, for sponsoring the seat. Click here for a view from the seat.
Crosshills Library
NYCC plan handing over Crosshills Library to the community in April 2017. Residents are invited to complete a survey to help refine plans and help gain funding. Click here for the survey.
Feasibility study

New user-friendly footpath
The Parish Council is undertaking extensive work on the Lower Arbour. A new “User Friendly” path has been installed, replacing the uneven steps. It is intended to make the steps higher up easier to walk down.
